Creative Play

My little guy has always been enthralled with tools and anything to do with construction.  I am sure he inherited this from his dad, who loves to work on anything that may (or may not) be broken. We had this little play house in the back yard that my husband built for my daughter when she was little enough to play in it.

I decided it would be fun to make my son a little workshop where he could be creative in his building. We painted the inside blue and my hubby went to the local home improvement store and bought a large piece of peg board and some hooks.  He attached it right to the wall with screws and put the hooks in it to hold all of the tools...

He added a long piece of wood under the peg board for a work space and to hold his wood and toolbox and I hung some pictures of tools above the peg board...

We added some hooks with little buckets for storage of gloves (which he insists on wearing while he is working) and bolts and screws...

And of course he needed a workshop sign on the door...

Needless to say, he is super thrilled to have a spot where he can build and "work."  This is such a great space for him to be creative!
